Today, 18/07/14, one of our mobile Brisbane locksmiths was driving down Swann Road, St Lucia when he noticed smoke coming from an apartment building.
Here’s where he becomes a Brisbane locksmith hero.
He and another driver in front of him stopped to inspect what they saw smoke coming out of an apartment, Nathan our mobile Locksmith, went inside with his kit with the body corporate manager and picked the door to get into the room. There they found a cigarette had been left burning on the bedside table and it had started a small fire. Then the manager extinguish the fire before it had taken hold. There was minor damage to the room but our locksmith definitely saved the day.
We have stories like this every single week but not as dramatic, well some are but we can’t share those ones. But our locksmith took it in his stride to stay calm and focused, so much so he left without leaving his name.
With over 3500 units in the St Lucia area, it was lucky that Nathan was driving by this particular one today at that time, otherwise this could have ended a lot differently.
If you do have a smoker in the family we would suggest it would be very wise to install a fire alarm which is different to a smoke detector, if you live in an apartment building this would be something to discuss with the body corporate. Your body corporate should have something in place especially if you are in a higher density building. But make sure you are aware of your exit routes as it may not be you that starts the fire in your building.
