A recent robbery in Brisbane highlighted the importance of keeping valuables in a quality safe. More importantly a locked safe that will withstand an attack as well as being discreet about having gold. Form Army verteran Christopher Lunt had his life saving stolen from a cheap safe, see the link at the bottom of the page. It is my opinion someone knew Mr Lunt had a stash of gold and silver and took a punt that he would be out on new years eve.
The criminals found his cheap hardware safe and made short work of it. Gold safes or as we refer to them, jewellers grade safes are made to withstand a serious attack. Had the Brisbane Digger had a Jewellers grade safe I would wager he would still have his gold and silver.
I am often asked to supply small safes for storing gold bullion. When I inquire why the answer is always the same, people seem to think that if they have a small safe the criminals wont find it. Well here it is, you cant rely on the criminals not being able to find your safe as a defence. You have to assume if the thieves are in your home that they WILL find the safe. Once you accept that point you can then set about buying a safe. One that will do what it has been designed to do, keep the crims away from your valuables.
We have a large range of new and second hand safes that are suitable for storing gold bullion and silver, and unlike the internet you can come in and see what you are buying.
On the point of internet safes, why would you buy a safe from someone without meeting them or at least doing a few checks. Do they have a security License, are they trading from a backyard shed or garage ? It would be easy to set up a online safe shop, sell lots of safes and then give the details of those who have bought safes to criminal mates who could then go and break in.
We are licensed by the Qld Office of Fair trading and as such are checked for criminal charges. This happens automatically with Qld security licenses which are cross referenced with the Police database. Furthermore each person with a security license in QLD must submit to mandatory finger and palm printing. Lastly we also deliver ALL our safes and do not subcontract this out to furniture movers or truck drivers. Call us today to discuss any aspect of gold safes on 1300 556500.
