Life in Queensland requires that we live both inside and outside. We do this with security doors and security windows. Well thats all good and well but it does mean that we open and close these doors more than the standard wooden doors. As a result we see lots of repairs of the locks on these security doors. We have been doing security door lock repairs Brisbane wide for almost 25 years.
During that time we have seen lots of changes with security door locks. Whitco which was one of Australia’s leading security door lock manufacturers had their head office here in Brisbane. They made a large range of security door locks at their Sherwood factory. Alas Whitco became a victim of globalisation. It was swallowed up by Lockwood (Assa Abloy own Lockwood) and eventually the factory was closed and moved to China.
Today there are only three security door lock manufacturers, Doric, Austal and Whitco. These three compete hard for this niche market. We often find that when a lock needs a repair there is usually more than one fault at play. Its only when these two things combine the problem gets to the point that we are called. For example if the rollers on a sliding security door are worn or sagging. This causes the lock and striker plate to be out of alignment and this in turn puts extra pressure on the key as it is turned. Eventually the key will snap and we are called out to remove the broken key. However its only when you look for the real cause that you can truly fix the problem.
We have 2 workshops in Brisbane – our Norther Brisbane shop in Taringa and our Southern suburbs workshop in Rocklea. We also have 7 fully equipped mobile vans that travel to all Brisbane suburbs and this service is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Call us today on 1300 556500.
